I hate this stock....

Always more down than the "others"

never more UP than the rest of the market...

I am in since January and boy do I regret it....

Mikey dell is NOT doing his job in changing perceptions in the investment community.

A suffering shareholder....

Thank God for my SUNW, EMC & CSCO

Ed, again, look at the data pt...you are taking the peak of "spike"...try looking at it from the base of 33....wow, the 5/6 month from that starting pt.. (33% in 5/6 mos. or at least 66% p.a) doesn't look as bad....it DOES depend from whence you start....

Since early September, almost all hardware companies (save SUNW and CPQ, special case) are down about 10-15%...Intel and Microsoft down (almost) same....Also, the stocks have taken a hit (understandly) because of Taiwan...Now that this period is almost over....

Also, Dell is still in the first 6 weeks of the quarter (almost over however)...October/early November will be much kinder than September...look back at Dell's charts from past periods (including this year)....2nd half of quarter almost always (always?) performs much better than first......that is not a guarantee, but, we should see a little run here into the analyst meeting next week (barring some unforeseen major development)..for the general market, earnings are going to come to fore....

In my book, any stock that return 25%+ p.a. consistently is a winner....if you know some (sure-r) picks that produce GREATER than that rate of return...I'd love to hear them (25%+ going forward from here...not in retrospect)..You mentioned Gateway....are you really sure Gateway will return greater than Dell (over next year?) from these levels......hmmm
