TD.

curious, would you characterize privately held FirePond in the same category? a platform primarily rigged for Web front ends? i'd be interested to know how often Siebel encounters them while out pounding the pavement.

odd name aside (NapalmBeach has a better ring, no?), their Application Suite seems fairly well rounded, albeit not a full-blown CRM suite: sales-effectiveness (FirePond Sales); e-commerce (FirePond Web); sales-force automation and opportunity management, aka "lookie, trigger events!" (FirePond Sales Manager); automated customer interaction (FirePond Process Server); and e-business app development (FirePond Enterprise WorkBench).

fwiw, they're all alone in the exclusive, Interactive Selling System "magic quandrant" clique according to Gartner (should the latter have a star in your little black book):

firepond.com
