Take a look at the March 1999 IEA Working Paper: The Year 2000 Problem and the Oil Industry

There is an August 1999 version. The press conference earlier this month with the two authors of the update produced quite a controversy due to the less than cheery remediation picture developing. The IEA has still not updated the site with the new working paper for some reason. <ggg> (I've emailed the org three times requesting that they update the site and have yet to receive the courtesy of a reply.)

In the absence of something comprehensive and authoritative info like the two articles I posted earlier is all we have to go on.
