I just noticed today that my 19" Mag Innovision monitor is only 18 inches(17.5 viewable). I didn't notice much of a size difference when I upgraded from a 17" and neither did anyone else. I just figured there really that much difference but now I know why! I would have never actually measured it except I was seeing how screensize made a difference with my website so had an 18" ruler against it.
I have to wonder if that is even legal.

I'm still happy with the $388 purchase because is detail is extremely fine with a .22 horizontal dot pitch. Also it supports blazing fast refresh rates at high reselutions (1200X1600 @95hz). I'm pretty sure than dot pitch is the distance between pixels measured in millimeters.
