Arrow Electronics Hosts Embedded Conferences in Several North American Cities
MELVILLE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 29, 1999--Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE:ARW - news), has announced that it is offering a series of free one-day seminars on the latest 8-bit embedded technology.

The leading suppliers of 8-bit embedded devices, including Atmel, Microchip, Motorola, and Philips, will feature their latest design solutions.

Atmel, a leading vendor of Flash microcontroller solutions, will provide detailed training on two 8-bit microcontroller architectures, the industry standard 8051 and the high-performance 8-bit RISC AVR product families. Microchip will discuss the industry's most advanced 8-bit MCU architecture, the new PIC18C family and its high-speed throughput as well as C-optimized hardware to reduce development time.

The world leader in microcontrollers, Motorola, will share new information about their 68HC08 architecture, new Flash-based devices, peripherals, and development tools. Seminar participants will also learn how Philips adds new life to the 80C51 architecture by adding enhancements such as six-clock operation, lower power, and EMC. In addition, Philips will discuss its new line of Flash products and potential microcontroller solutions for applications such as CAN, internet connectivity, factory automation, and PC server management.
