Lee--The Sheriff had a lot less trouble with my pronunciation than the things you told him when he asked about "That Yankee". Noel told me what you said: "I don't know him but I know about him. He was just over here a sayin he was a carpet bagger here to rob the innocent, burn down the Baptist church, and defile our women. It looks like he is a doin it too, ain't that your daughter whut is grabbin his butt there Sheriff?" The naivite of the people down there, to begin with there isn't enough gasoline and matches in the state to ignite all the Baptist churches in a square mile of country around there. And defile our women??? In Arkansas??!! My most imaginative suggestions were greeted with statements like: "That's fun alright but you got anythin different? I been a doin that with cousin Elrod fer years." And that was his daughter, bad form to rat on a friend I say. Druss I will disprove the <<rob the innocent>> claim another time when I have more time.
