They did it on purpose. Al agreed to raise rates only if he could have some inflation evidence OTHER than a bubble stock market to point to. Now the crb index is going through the roof. That's reason enough for Al to raise without getting lynched. I expect to start hearing the talking heads tomorrow saying "we've already priced in a rate hike"

Also, don't you think it was odd timing for the Europeans to come out with their gold announcement right after the G7 meeting? Timing like that is always more than accidental.
