I have used the Sony gdm-400, the 19" little brother to the 500. In fact I have one on my desk at work and use it every day. It is without a doubt the nicest CRT monitor I have ever used. The screen is very flat, incredibly crisp edge to edge. A real sweet monitor.
The Viewsonics are also nice, but the Sony rules....IMHO.

Good Luck
Dan

Want to a second monitor to run with my DELL 17" trinitron in a dual setup using win98. Looking at the Sony
GDM-500PS and Viewsonic P815.

You will also need to check to see if your existing video card is compatible with Windows 98 multimonitor capability. See support.microsoft.com
If not you will have to discard your existing video card and either get two new video cards or a dual headed video card.
