Eh? Increasing the # of authorized shares causes dilution? I don't think so. It does absolutely nothing. It's not even an accounting entry.

The SEC would disagree. They for one REQUIRE a few "acounting entries" from CSCO

Oh, now you say it IS dilutive? So what is it? Dilutive or not dilutive? Make up your mindmeld.

If the acquisition was a good one then long term the shareholders benefit from the extra revs and EPS.
This "phantom" acquisition better be great, it will take twice the current earnings almost to equal the pre-diluted CSCO EPS.
Remember investing 101, thats earnings per SHARE. ;-)

Investing in hope is a quick ticket to the poor house. Causes one to overlook the obvious sometimes.
