Key events to watch to-day and why????

METALS:

After falling back Wednesday on profit-taking following Tuesday's 9.2%
jump, COMEX Dec gold futures are expected to try and consolidate just
above the $300 per ounce level. However, a stab at higher prices shouldn't
be ruled out, given that 1-month lease rates stayed firm at about 9%
throughout Wednesday's session despite the gold price pullback. The gold
market will keep an eye on the whole laundry list of US economic data set
for release today, although gold might simply take its cue from any moves
in other financial markets.
