10% lease rates are extreme and unsustainable. To me it basically implies a gold banking crises is in process. Those who can payoff their gold loans will do so and those who can't may go under if they can't afford to roll them over. Probably no different than the financial crises we've seen in Mexico or Russia in the recent past. I don't agree that all gold mining companies will suffer. Once this crises is resolved we may see POG back around $400. The companies who are hedged to the eyeballs like ASL and ABX will suffer. Those with under 1 year worth of hedging like GOLD, NEM or HGMCY will most definitely prosper with much higher gold prices. Unlike the paper money crises of the past the U.S. is probably powerless to help its cronies since it can't print its way out of this one.
