to SBC in October 1999; Expected Revenue Over a One Year Period Should Exceed
$2 million

ONTARIO, Calif., Sep 30, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- MicroTel
International Inc. (OTC BB:MCTL) ("MicroTel") today announced that its
CXR Telcom subsidiary, located in Fremont, California has once again
been approved as a key supplier by another major telcom company, this
time to provide new and replacement transmission equipment for SBC
Corporation's Voice Mail Systems operations. Shipments will be to both
unregulated and central office facilities for integration into their
Southwestern and United States regional infrastructure. Expected
revenue should exceed $2 million over the next year beginning in
October 1999.

Commenting on the business Bryan Fuller, President of CXR Telcom,
stated "CXR's equipment solutions for customer voice mail system
applications are based upon our full featured, high end, high
reliability Anderson Jacobson branded modem product line which enjoys a
large installed base throughout the United States. CXR is well
positioned to become the dominant supplier in this important market
segment where voice mail service is increasingly being offered by the
RBOC's and other independents to the massive business market."

Mehdy Merin, Network Product Manager for CXR's transmission line of
equipment used in voice mail applications, billing systems, and other
