I guess 20% in a quarter might qualify as a bear for those that held the "average" stock. From the leadin to a story in today's WSJ... The real winners in the third quarter were the people who kept their money in their wallets. Big technology stocks posted gains, but the average stock now has fallen more than 20% from its high, hurting many investors and causing some pundits to talk again of a "stealth bear market."
