I know they've bought Monterey. I'm still trying to substantiate my previous point: CSCO is on 'short circuiting' business.

I'm trying to say, not very successfully at first, but if we keep discussing it we will perhaps come with a good grasp of this whole thing, is that we can draw a conclusion from CSCO ditching TGX 8750 a high-end ATM WAN switch and at same time buying Monterey.

Bigger switches in the core is what I call the 'Jakarta by passes'. I explain: They built in Jakarta by passes to avoid the traffic jams of the normal city streets. Huge, wide modern roads. Then they put every 5Km or so, toll gates (the by passes were private roads). Then we had those monstruous traffic jams waiting on line to pay.

Next next generations netowrks are only the by-passes.
