Shares of AOL came under profit taking late in the session giving back
3
5/8 gain. By the end, shares closed down 5/8 to 109 ¬ on volume of
30.47
million. While shares are showing a propensity to move higher, they
need to
deal with some overbought situation on a short-term basis, which could
lead
to some consolidation. Support would be around $102-$103. More and more
analysts are commenting on the rumor regarding AOL's acquisition of
ATHM
and if that happens, AOL shares could rise even more. While many
believe
that such a deal is likely, the timing of the deal is not yet clear.
Whatever the outcome, investors have already bid up shares of ATHM.

If you owned shares of AMZN before trading began today, you have to
love
the action of AMZN. Shares broke out with authority rising 14 7/8 to 80
ó
on volume of 79.3 million. A monstrous move. AMZN would let merchants
sell
products through its web site. AMZN would charge a monthly fee of $9.95
and
get a % of sales. AMZN believes that this could turn out to be huge and
is
starting the service just before the crucial holiday season. Internet
stocks have started to react positively to news again - something we
saw
during Nov-Dec of last year. Look for more positive news announcements
until the end of the year. As for AMZN, despite today's solid gain,
look
for more gain in coming days.
