Bill, While in office, the crooks use their power to obstruct justice thus making removal highly unlikely. Once they leave their positions, their "protection" of their power can no longer be used. Most of them, especially Clinton, would like to remain in office where they could use this power to thwart any investigation. From the Clinton's perspective, the information obtained from those FBI files has proved to be invaluable. It has allowed them to have a free-run due to the implied threat of retaliation against anyone who would dare to question their activities.
