Whenever a press release pushes the back-end technology to the front then I wonder about their agenda. Spectrum also did this by using a 5th of their announcement to mention that they use Sun Microsystem computers. At least in Spectrum's case they hung their hats on a product that has proven it can scale to the capacity required in this arena, unlike Windows NT.

You don't see CheckFree always mentioning what they run on (I think it's Tandem and IBM). Amazon doesn't either (they use Compaq's 64-bit unix running on the alpha chip). Note that niether Intel or Microsoft have their fingers in these pies and draw your own conclusion.
