Oh, that. I said that she had done hundreds of thousands of dollars of business with various companies, chiefly software and database providers, for the professional association she works for. These were not database projects, they were sponsorships of various activities. She is a fundraiser, and last year raised over a million dollars through various channels for her association....

Yes, you used some "hundred thousand dollar" database projects as defense of your wife within our discussions of use of the term "lady" in the workplace. Apparently you think this qualifies your wife as a high powered businesswoman.

Well we can't all be the spinsterish, unmarried, childless, unemployed success you have turned out to be now can we?

At the same time, you mentioned that a difference of opinion with respect to referring to businesswomen as "ladies" had to do with one's social circle.

A non-sequitur, but since you brought it up, it is an apt observation.

She recently returned from a business trip to Boston where she met with representatives of several high- tech companies. She has appointments in New York next week with a number of data- base providers......
