Happy Birthday, Fred... and a belated Happy Birthday to you, Susie. Since some of you don't read RB, I thought I would repost what I just posted there regarding today's PR. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- "I have to agree with you, Chuck, and BBBabe and the others who have posted positively about today's news re: BooksNow.com and TSIG. This is just my opinion, but this is just the kind of relationship that TSIG needs more of and I believe will happen. What's wrong with (1) getting a straight 8% clean profit with no overhead and (2) I like the idea that the card sales by non-profits should be much easier once it is known that the MyMusicCard site links to books as well. And let's not forget the sale of cards through commercial (for profit) companies. We used to talk about these "promo" cards and I suspect that TSIG is starting to push this end of the business. Again, IMO, it's hard for corporations who are looking for consistent everyday advertising to resist using the promo cards when the cost to them comes back quickly and then they actually continue to make dollars by sharing in the card profits while advertising their own company. From today's news release: "About TSIG.com Headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, TSIG.com created the myMusicCard program to enable consumers to purchase CDs and cassettes at the lowest prices, and to develop revenue-generating programs with corporations (emphasis added) and non-profit organizations that attract consumers to customers' sites. TSIG also provides customer service and support with its Web-based call center and related services. In addition, TSIG.com's myPhotoCard program provides low-cost film processing and Kodak film." All just my opinion, but I don't think the phrase about corporations was in error... just overlooked by many. NetTaxi is a perfect example. No hype... just my opinion. Best always, Marty (Voluntary Disclosure: Position- Long)" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Best always, Marty
