A few weeks ago when ORCL first popped up int o the 40s some analyst said it had broken out into a higher range. Since it held even afterr earnings, I would expect it to stay around here or pop up more to the upside. Everything about the future has been very +, plus analysts have said great things.

Great theory. But I am not so sure. This is the test hypothesis: If I ran a mutual fund and I sold a 'looser' defined as a pretty good stock that has been generally down for the quarter, then I think I would buy a very near term in the money call.

I did some 'Casual Empiricism' and I could not observe any significant volume of he subject puppies, which we should see.

Of course, it is possible that the fund manager would simply sell without trying to protect his position, but do you think his ego or his good sense would allow that?

Any thoughts?

FWIW, take a look at current option pricing on ORCL, which, IMHO, is indicating that ORCL will trend north of 50 by year end.
