12:36 ET Applied Materials (AMAT) 77 -2 3/4: Stock being dragged down along with the rest of the semis, but SG Cowen reiterates its "strong buy" and expects company to beat Q4 EPS consensus of $0.63 by at least 7 cents and will also beat revenue estimates of $1.4-1.5 bln.

12:17 ET Semiconductor Stocks : --Update-- Some traders placing the blame for the semis' troubles today on a Japanese nuclear accident; though thus far, the accident has only prompted warning for those within a 6 mile radius of the plant. The plant is 70 miles Northeast of Tokyo.

12:04 ET Micron Technology (MU) 68 5/16 -3 11/16: --Update-- Salomon Smith Barney downplays talk of DRAM oversupply; reiterates "buy" on MU and $120 price target.
