Paul:

I can't find the post, but I recall you saying you expect Intel to have an "OK" or "good" Q3 (can't remember exactly what you said), and a "strong" or "terrific" Q4 (again, can't remember exact wording). Has your view changed with the recent fumbles of Camino/Rambus and Xeon?

It's tough to sit by as an employee and watch these blunders happen, but I do understand the complexity involved. When I was an engineer with McDonnell-Douglas, I was involved in the Navy A-12 project, one of the worst defense industry debacles ever (and still under litigation, I believe, eight years after it was cancelled). The company recovered quite well, though, and I'm confident Intel will do the same.

Adam - My opinion only, not Intel's

Paul,

<Intel is laying the groundwork for its future growth - with 64 bit processors already up and running - and Server Farms - already up and running - >

I agree with what you say to some extent but I have come to the conclusion that a lot of these activities are Intel's misguided efforts to diversify when the execution problems on Merced and Wilamette put their core business under threat.

<but you're still in love with a company that hasn't returned a yearly profit in FOUR YEARS. >

Intel is a first rate company on a downtick and AMD is a second rate company on an uptick. It will take a long time for AMD to get to the same league as Intel. That said, this business is unforgiving, if I thought Intel had anything that can compete with Athlon, I would be very long this stock.

<You exhibit extremely poor judgemental capabilities.>

Well, I have come to enjoy tweaking you. If you mistake it for judgement problem, that ain't my problem. My portfolio is doing fine, thank you.
