You may or may not be right. Depending on the law of the state where the suit was brought, any further claims coudld be barred under the doctrines of "res judicata" or collateral Estoppel. if the injunction was denied on procedural grounds, the plaintiff may still be alive, but if on substantive grounds it looks like the only avenue available to the plaintiffs would be an appeal. Caveat - I have not seen the actual court documents so what I am writing is based on the reports I have seen posted on this thread for the most part.

It was not merely a tactical victory. According to the news release, the court found that there was NO CONTRACT BETWEEN THE PARTIES. If there was no contract then there is NO cause of action (unless it is against Laird). There may also be a cause of action against a few posters.
