Word up, Proggy!

JC: This doesn't represent any port to Solaris of anything. Bill G. and Ballmer will dry up and blow away before that happens. All this is, it's what The Prognosticator said: a hurry-up hack designed to make people think that M$ is in on the program by unloading their existing junk in a slightly massaged form. It's just a Solaris server spewing chunks of Win32 binaries.

It would be a joke--if I had more confidence in SUNW's ability to make Star Portal a customer-delighting product. If they can get their act together and really exploit this opportunity rather than spending all their time on internal bickering, they can win it. Let's hope they do. SUNW and IBM's cultures are very similar in that one regard: they can sometimes spend a lot more ergs on bickering than on work.
