Why not contest it? Did the cop catch you on radar? If not, its his perception against your perception. If the court sees a Not Guilty plea, they may just throw it out rather than pursue it. Of course, if they do pursue it, you have to deal with a court appearance. You still could win if you talk to the prosecutor before court starts and get him to see it your way.

Will your car insurance go up because of this? It wouldn't surprise me out there.
