Hillary's Presidential Campaign Ready to Go, Author Says Watch out, Al Gore. That's the message veteran journalist George Carpozi Jr. has for V.P. Gore in his soon-to-be-published book on Hillary Clinton. Carpozi, author of several dozen books including the best-selling Poison Pen, the bio on Kitty Kelley, reports that New York Democratic operatives close to the Clintons tell him that Hillary Clinton is ready to enter the presidential race. Earlier this month, Inside Cover reported that Federal Election Commission records show Hillary as both a candidate for the U.S. Senate and for the presidency in the year 2000. The FEC told Inside Cover that Mrs. Clinton's presidential committee was set up independently from Mrs. Clinton and had not been active. Fast forward to Carpozi's book. Carpozi tells Inside Cover that Hillary is preparing to "pull the biggest double-cross American politics has ever seen." The Clintons have little use for Gore, Carpozi said, and view Bill Bradley's fast rise in the polls with great alarm. "They don't like Bradley because he's honest and they can't control him," Carpozi said. From day one of the Clinton presidency, Hillary has been a rival of Al Gore. On the day of Clinton's 1993 inauguration Bill and Hill engaged in a fierce shouting match - overheard by several law enforcement officers - as Hillary demanded the White House office typically reserved for the vice president. She didn't get that office. Still, she has her eyes set on the office occupied by her husband. Carpozi noted that under federal election law Hillary can easily transfer her Senate campaign coffers and staff to a presidential campaign. Carpozi doesn't know what the timing for the change would be, only that he was told by people close to the Clintons that they should be prepared for this option. "This may explain why Al Gore has begun taking parachutes with him whenever he flies," Carpozi joked. newsmax.com
