i agree it's different from '87...last year's emerging market crisis with it's deflationary implications made me at first think that a '29 type situation was developing. so what do we have here? remember, depending on who you listen to, the world is either recovering (a la '87) or the recovery is not for real and just masking underlying weakness (more like in '29).

so perhaps this is something new, namely the specific '99 movie...but one could argue that the systems capabilities were tested last year and survived the test admirably. so what is out there that could challenge the system again and in a very short time?
