Thought we were done with these for the year...

FOLSOM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 30, 1999--The California Independent System Operator (Cal-ISO) declared a Stage One Emergency at 2 p.m. today as the state's electric system responds to unseasonably hot temperatures.

Additionally, power coming into the state has been limited along a major transmission path due to a fire that is burning near Red Bluff, close to the Round Mountain,/Table Mountain 500 kilovolt power line.

The Cal-ISO is asking customers to voluntarily reduce their use of electricity, to prevent more severe curtailment measures. The Stage One Emergency is in effect until 8 p.m. tonight. The peak demand on the transmission system is expected to reach approximately 40,200 megawatts by late afternoon.
