I like the vanilla-dipped-in-chocolate cones, myself, the kind where the chocolate gets hard and waxy when it gets cold on the ice cream. Sucking a hole in the chocolate and sucking the ice cream through the hole is a very sensual act.

My favorite soft drink/soda/soda pop is Coca~Cola. Bar none. I'd rather drink water than Pepsi, or any other cola. Or else I'll have root beer, ginger ale, Dr. Pepper, or iced tea.

When I was a kid, we called them "cold drinks."

"Do you want a cold drink?" meant "Do you want a soda/soft drink/soda pop?"

And it wasn't just us, it was everybody. If you asked me if I wanted a soda pop, I'd go, "what?"

Some people called them "dopes." The drinks, I mean. Older people. "Do you want one of these dopes?"

Now I try to avoid the sugar, but I still like the carbonated water, so I get club soda whenever I can. Try asking for that, see the looks you get. It's got a lot of names, too. Sometimes I have to describe it.
