Never happened to me.
You should consider using software like
Best Defense or Guard Dog.
They can track access to all the directory
and files you want to protect
any tentative of TCP connection you don't like
etc..

Check out "Window Washer" at www.webroot.com". Single best software I've purchased. Cleans out almost everything Gary talks about BUT lets you select individual cookies you want to retain (SI, RB, and other sites you may frequent).....and does it every time I shutdown windows..pretty slick and keeps my machine pretty clean.
