No, I wouldn't suggest voting Reform Party, unless it was on the local level. I voted for the Reform candidate in our most recent gubernatorial election. Gov. Keating was a shoo-in for re-election, plus the guys name was Hoppy Heidelberg. How could I resist?

I recall that before 94, rightist activist groups were saying things like, "the key is to win congress, thats where the real power lies." I used to hear that and think, yeah right, keep dreaming. Well, our wildest dreams came true, and where are we? A tremendous opportunity has been squandered.

You ask what I suggest. I don't know, I'm flummoxed. I agree that to vote third party in national elections only helps the enemy. We need to somehow bring in more people, like Reagan Democrats and some of the more old fashioned mid-western style progressives. I've got a magazine kicking around the house here with a visage of Clinton on the cover with the words "war criminal" spread across his face. Its a pretty hard left magazine. We could use some of these people. They certainly don't feel at home in the Democrat Party. If we could reconcile differences with people like this, the Democrats may be become the minority party for a long time.
