I don't know if you have seen the recent CNET (??) article where Ashok Kumar is quoted as saying some motherboard guys may be opting for Intel motherboards as they make choices on earthquake related shortages.

Athlon motherboards are due for a spin after Q4 (you may have seen Anand's review which basically says current customers are guinea pigs). Rumors say that only FIC is getting large orders and others may not have been that lucky yet. So, if the other manufacturers have to make a choice, dumping Athlon motherboards until the new release boards comeup would be an easy call unless AMD finds ways to make it economical for them to continue doing so. This may not be really that bad a news but when you are expecting only about 1Mu shipments even small losses can be significant and the negative press can make it look worse. I have not personally confirmed this but I find Kumar's view as something that cannot be ignored as far as Q3/Q4 are concerned.
