marc, (OT) Yeah that was a cruddy goal that ended the playoffs last year. A Buffalo-Dallas rematch would be fun. Looks like Ottawa is your competition in the East, and maybe New Jersey or Phillie but they both appear to be underachievers at least right now... Then on Sunday I'm headed early out on a business trip to west Texas. At the Midland-Odessa Airport the Confederate Air Force has their massive home base show Saturday and Sunday. It's called the "Salute to the Heavy Iron" Show this year- i.e. bombers. They have lots of WWII planes at the Midland CAF HQ that only fly the Midland show. They will put up 16 WWII bombers in the air this year - B-24's,B-25's, A-26's,B-17's, and a HE 111 from the Phoenix Squadron to boot. When that many WWII bombers fly at the same time the whole earth rumbles. And the simulated bomb explosions are outstanding- the CAF pyrotechnics personnel are top rate. The US Air Force and Naval Air Force are bringing in the B-2 Stealth Bomber from Missouri, F-14's, 15-s, 16's, and 18's; also B-1 Bombers from Abilene, as well as the A-20 Aaardvark for a demo on tank killing. And the reenactment of the Pearl Harbor raid is always cool. Just before we came into Love Field in Dallas this morning I saw a squadron of about 11 Japanese WWII aircraft flying in formation at 5,000 feet just north of Fort Worth headed to Midland for the Show. If you're flying west this weekend I suggest that you route yourself through Midland,Texas if possible and check out this show- it's pretty impressive.... It's one of the best air shows in North America- right there withthe big Wright-Patterson Air Show in Ohio I believe. BTW for you history buffs- Many of the commercial airports/ military airbases in North Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Missouri such as Love Field, Kirkland Air Force Base, etc., are named after the first US Military Squadron ever qualified and licensed to fly back in 1913 who trained at the original Ellington Field just south of Houston, Texas.... So hey, the Stars, Jaromir Jagr, a good airshow and great 80 degree weather...Now if we could just light a permanent fire under these energy stocks,ha!
