>>>Just how do you plan on downloading your 48MB card while on the road ? Drag around a laptop ?? <<<

John... As an avid digital photography buff... I don't mind carrying my laptop with me on trips business and vacation... One of the coolest things about digital photography is the immediate gratification of being able to download a picture to your computer to view it and share it with friends, family, etc... via email. Looking at the images on your camera's tiny LCD doesn't do it... I for one wouldn't want to wait a week or two to get home and begin sorting through 10 or 20 40meg clik! disks... Another reason why the "carrying around a clunky laptop" argument doesn't wash with me is that with email, stock portfolios, etc... I find that a laptop is a necessity if you want to stay in touch and maintain control of your finances while traveling whether you're doing digital photography or not...

Just my .02... Good luck w/IOM

BTW I plan to upgrade my old ZIP 100 (I've used it constantly for the last 3 years without any problems and now have 17 ZIP disks)to a new ZIP 250 USB while I'm in the States next week... ZIP is the standard in removable storage around the world, there is no doubt about that... When IOM get's it's costs in line the "razor blade" scenario will start to pay off... As for IOM becoming obsolete technology... I don't think so... IOM surely has more products in the pipeline to deal with that issue... i.e. ZIP 500, CliK! 100, etc....

Ciao

>>I didn't even see a 48MB Sandisk CompactFlash offered on the site. Tell me how much you paid. It has to be at least $200<<

Wrong. I paid $109 for the Sandisk 48MB CF Card. (which is more than a few weeks ago when it was about $90) My Epson PhotoPC 850Z was $676.

>>40 MB of Clik! would have cost $10. <<

LOL! I think you forgot a little something... the $249 Bomb! Drive!!! I doubt a Bomb! disk would work without one.

>>Just how do you plan on downloading your 48MB card while on the road ? <<

If I run into that problem, I'll get an iBook (I really need one anyway for various things). But I will be able to store lots of pictures on the 48MB CF card plus the 8MB card the Epson ships with- and never have to really worry about getting the cards wet or cold, dusty, or anything. If I did what IOmega wanted me to, I would always have the thought in the back of my mind that 40MB Bomb is a dust and dirt contamination disaster waiting to happen. ( I live in NYC- very dusty. You should see the insides of some office computers around here--YEEAACCHHH!)

If I really get the shutterbug in me, I might pick up the 340MB IBM Microdrive. But never Iomega Bomb!- besides, Bomb! for digital cameras isn't even compatible with Macs!
