Dan,

What does this have anything to do with Athlon? Copied from Aceshardware ( aceshardware.com ) __

Impressive LINUX power in a slot B motherboard Johan
Friday, October 01, 1999 (07:06 AM West-Europa (zomertijd))

If you run Linux and you are searching for the ultimate machine, search no more! Tyrtle, a reader of Ace's, pointed us to this awesome , slot B based, dual Alpha 21264 configuration (http://www.atipa.com/ALPHAserver_AT2000.html).

This baby got a 333 MHz EV6-bus. The Athlon Ultra, which will be announced on the MPF next week, will probably use a similar slot B configuration.

Regards,
Goutama

RE <<<AMD was last night still refusing to comment on the Athlon 700MHz launch.

Rana Mainee, AMD's European research director, said he could neither confirm nor deny the 4 October start date.>>>

I do not understand how Mesh can say they are shipping the 700 on 10/4 but AMD refuses to say whether the 700 will be launched by 10/4....is that then to say that Mesh's announcement is bullsh*t?
