Metastock

I use TC2000 as my EOD data vendor for MS. Downloads are very fast compared to other services (eg, dial data).

Ken...........I've used MetaStock (Equis) for a couple of years now, the EOD version, and am currently on v6.5. I like MetaStock a lot but the only hands-on comparisons I have are OmniTrader and QCharts (which I use for real-time). Really like apples, oranges and pears to compare these three. OmniTrader is definitely not suitable for general charting purposes because the user has virtually no control over the chart. I use Reuters Trend Datalink (a related Equis company) for EOD data. My impression is that the Reuters data is squeeky clean but I do experience problems a few times a month when I connect evenings during prime time to download data. If I wait an hour I've always been able to get the data eventually even on the busy nights.

There is a real-time version of MetaStock as well. There will be a new release of the EOD version before the end of the year. I was told there will be major enhancements. I will most likely upgrade. I know MetaStock is Y2K compliant. Check out the Equis website
