A few random thoughts:

Just how smart is Intel?

I posted along time ago that Barrett's strength manufacturing/ production. Andy Grove is a great conceptualist, but his successor may have been picked PRECISELY because intc is facing about three years of manufacturing transition.

Earthquakes, Radiation, snow. Sh*t Happens. I am not being an apologist; But intel is moving in many major hopeful directions right now at the same time. Some things are going very well. The 85000 square foot web hosting facility was put up in 30 minutes (well....)

Dan Niles was just on cnbc. He didn't badmoth intc, but he did make the point that any company will be impacted, production stopped by the loss of just one part from any of the world's recent calamities. I don't think he made mention of the electronic outages near El Camino.

But I remember the prophetic words of the 45 year old Kingston Trio Song:

The're....rioting in Africa,
.....There's smoke in Iran,
What nature doesn't do to us,

.....Will be done by our fellow man.

Again, I am not an apologist, I am just pointing out that Intel is well aware of the importance of executing. But maybe I would enjoy it a little better if the times we are living in were not quite so "interesting".

Maybe not.
