I am using AOL 5.0 and Excite is NOT prominently featured. In fact it is not featured whatsoever.

When you log on to AOL there is a Welcome screen that greets you. It has icons on the side to take you to a million different places. In the middle are sections called AOL today. It features different subjects with photos which changes everyday. But there is usually no overt advertising within this Welcome screen. So far, I do not see EXCITE as a pop up, click too, banner ad or any other thing. AOL has a search engine that searches all of AOL and the WEB...when I typed in EXCITE...it nicely listed the urls and links to EXCITE. So far that is all I have found.

Hope that helps,
Mary
