CS might merge, so what? It is one of the most hyped stocks on the boards. I've held CS from August 3 until September 13, made a nice profit, DID NOT HOLD through earnings which is what I told anyone who asked. I sold my portion at 18 7/8 and reentered near 15 15/16 missing a 3 point drop. While waiting for this overhyped stock to be taken over HQ and FCST were called and taken over rather quickly (within 6 weeks for HQ and only 2 days for FCST without all the ballyhoo). There are other stocks that look ripe for takeover that haven't been the subject of a 6 month wait. I have gathered a list from Barron's, Business Week, The Industry Standard and Individual investor. During the wait, many fine IPO's have come and given enormous profits, other stocks in telecommunications sectors, broadband, software sector have had staggering gains. I for one will not put more than 1-2000k in CS and not mortgage my house waiting for this 'miracle stock now in limbo' to be taken over.

Read the story "Waiting for Godot" and change Godot to CS'' So good luck "Waiting for CS" and try to distinguish hype and self aggrandizement from just plain stock picking and good profits for short term holds.

For those of you looking for a 'change of pace thread' and some risky by nonetheless action stocks that complements this thread I'd say try the "Cents and Sensibility - Kimberly and Friends' Consortium" . I'm not into penny stocks myself but now they have quite interesting stocks besides those for you daytraders looking for some hot action.
