SanDisk Names Yoshio Aoki President of SanDisk K.K. Subsidiary in Japan
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 1, 1999--SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK - news) announced today that it has named Yoshio Aoki president of SanDisk's wholly-owned SanDisk K.K. subsidiary in Yokohama, Japan. Beginning today, Aoki is responsible for all operations including sales and technical support at SanDisk K.K.

Aoki brings a tremendous amount of expertise and experience to SanDisk's efforts in Japan. Upon receiving his Ph.D. from Northwestern University, Aoki began his 22 year tenure at Sony Electronics Inc., serving as product development manager, general manager and senior vice president supervising Sony's entire business of brand computer peripherals. Since July, 1998, Aoki served as corporate vice president and representative director at Iomega Japan Corporation. Aoki will report to Leon Malmed, senior vice president of worldwide marketing and sales.

Malmed, said, ``Yoshio Aoki brings executive management excellence to SanDisk as we aggressively penetrate the consumer electronics market. Aoki's most recent data storage experience and in-depth experience of managing billion dollar organizations will be valuable assets to the SanDisk management team as we increase the company's presence in both the OEM and retail markets in Japan over the coming years.'

Richard Troutte, who has served for the past three years as president of SanDisk K.K., will return to SanDisk headquarters in Sunnyvale where he will be responsible for Pacific Rim sales. Troutte will continue to report to Malmed
