No Neo, I don't think you understand....This was a real blunder on the Republican's part. What Bush was referring to was their plan to "defer" EIC's to the working poor over a year instead of a lump sum.

Now I think I understand what the real motivation was, but they absolutely should have known that they would never live that one down in the coming election.

Bush was smart to give them a lesson in "compassionate conservatism".....
