You are right about FDIC Tom. With that the security is equal in all cases. I have no fear of letting my paycheck go there. I am enjoying substantial interest on my money for the first time. I had always left the money in cash at Wells and now I find it even more accessible. The cash card worked fine. I did not have to write a check yet so those 150 introductory checks should last a very long time. They even have my local water company already set up in their vendor list. They are mailing the mortgage money to my very backward mortgage bank. They could have said "no" to paying my mortgage bank but all they said was that I should pay that 5 days in advance to avoid any delay. The mortgage bank does not have bank wire access.

I had one question:

>Is there a fee involved in frequent use of Debit card from USAB in
>making purchaes at gas stations, groceries etc.

And the answer came promptly back:

Thank you for your inquiry. USABancShares.com does not charge a fee for POS (debit card) transactions.

The last PR said "stockholders' equity of $14.0 million". With all the debt this company now has it concerns me that 6.50 is not the bottom, which I hope we have already hit bottom. The bank makes money by making LOANS. Paying the highest interest rate could be a recipe for disaster without make LOANS. I believe if you focus on the Loan volume and RATES achieved we could find out if USAB will survive.
