Howdy Dowdy - Taxes will take care of themselves
I know one guy who Daytrades one stock, MSFT, nothing else!
He has years of tick x tick data on MSFT and can not only tell you what are the best days for trading MSFT, he can even tell you the best time of day to buy & sell. His technical data will work most of the time but he still keeps his eyes glued to the News Headlines, remember Ballmer, if he was in he would have sold MSFT immediately on getting that headline. I've watched him for years in my chatroom and would laugh at him posting, sells MSFT +1/8 or -1/8. I've seen him make anywhere from 1/16 to a couple points on one run, he even sells it breaking even if more sellers move in than buyers. After about 3 months of watching his action, I stopped laughing and began to take him seriously. Let's do the math. There are about 250 trading days each year and I "Know" this guy is averaging 1 point a day profit or so, and I know he is playing 1000 share buyin's. Leaving out the days he is away from his computer, sick or whatever, he must be making at least $200,000 a year playing "ONE" stock on a daily basis. I also know he is using Realtick 111 which is giving him a tick x tick chart of MSFT and he sets in indicators, moving averages, momentum, etc. I've seen him buy & sell MSFT four or five round trips some days. As for his taxes, he needs to know how to figure "Wash Sales". Cheers
