I agree that in a lot of cases, criminals have turned to crime because of many environmental factors. But, I also believe that there are many, many evil persons who cannot be rehabilitated, mostly because they either enjoy their evil deeds, don't have the ability to feel compassion, or just don't care. << Is the sould constrained by the physical bodies genetic makeup, or is it more ehtereal in nature? >> I believe it is purely physical. If you don't, ask a person with advanced alzheimers, or severe retardation, the difference between good and evil. << If you are in the presence of true unconditional love(God) and you sit by his side as the murderer of yor family comes to his eternal fate, would you want that person to be eternally tortured or rehabilitated ... >> Do you believe that people should be responsibile for their acts. Should we teach children that if they hurt other children, it doesn't matter because they will be rehabed latter? Do you believe that victims families should not want the person punished, who raped and killed their loved one? Do you want to send a message to the worse criminals in the world that they can go ahead with their evil deeds because they will be forgiven anyway? If you were in charge of our legal system and a child murderer told you that he was sorry, and seemed to mean it, would you release him from prison?
