I agree PB,

"Coppermine is not delayed"

I believe this article is another disappointing example of the press.

re:"Intel won't be far behind, however; it is slated to come out with 700-MHz and 733-MHz Pentium IIIs on October 25, sources said"

Ain't that a hoot PB?

Or is Intel coming out with a 700 and 733 P3 in addition to the Coppermine?

We will know next week I guess.

Looks like the Register has more credibility than CNET (<5%INTC owned now?)

Sounds like CNET and GamePC has been comparing notes. Or using the same ignorant sources.

Disgusting.

**OT**

PB,
re:" Coppermine is not delayed "

I wasn't aware it has been delayed before.
Barrett moved it up from November to October. Looks great until you find out it was scheduled for September.
Cool.

techweb.com

The launch of Intel Corp.'s Coppermine chip, an enhanced version of the Pentium III, will be delayed from late September to November.
Coppermine's delay is due to lower yields on 0.18-micron manufacturing at the higher 600MHz frequency, he said.

Sounds like Intel got the yields fixed.

But a repeat of the 820 would be disastrous.
I HOPE the same people driving the 820 train ain't driving the Coppermine train.
:o)
