Fantastic News -- augers well for Vulcan, especially!

From CQV's News Release recently posted a number of issues seem particularly interesting. I have included below salient points from this release (text included from Press Release is unchanged and followed by my comments) which seem promising for Vulcan's Oil Discovery --

1. "Combined maximum daily production rates from two intervals were 3,270 barrels of oil, 4.9 million cubic feet of natural gas and 1,237 barrels of salt water."

2. "The well flowed high quality (51 degree API) crude oil"

My comment: I am assuming (am not an expert) that the deep target which Vulcan intends to drill may/will intersect with this same Ordovician carbonate reservoir referred to in (1) and (2) above.

3. "Based on well information and geophysical mapping, we believe there may be significant economic reserves to be recovered from this oil discovery."

My comment: I believe Vulcan for some time now, has acquired from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador the single largest holdings in exploration permits for the entire West Coast Oil Play. If CQV is to be successful in oil recovery, it would be logical to assume that Vulcan will also be.

4. "Preliminary operations will begin on the property within 60 days, with the potential for first production in 2000. The Western Newfoundland basin will make a significant contribution to the growth of the industry in the province and to the local economy."

My heavenly comment: Praise the Lord! ... and pass the Purity Jam Jams!
