And what if he gets an early assignment with Dell having slipped to 31 after the market crashed due to a silly stunt by the fed; or a nuclear accident in the US; or some other disaster?

Does he have enough margin and fortitude to wait the recovery out? Or is he going to be forced to sell at the bottom taking a massive loss.

If he's not willing and able to actually buy the shares at strike less premium, then he's assuming more risk than he seems to realize.

But it's his money. And he's entitled to lose it anyway he so chooses.
