Hi KZNerd; Re sending 16 bytes muxed by eight... Like most engineering choices, it is a matter of trading off the costs and benefits of the two ways of doing it.

If it were 20MHz and 80MHz, I doubt that anyone would complain about muxing the data to save the pins. But not 800MHz. Hubris. Classic tragedy.
