JamesT--For sure I'm aware of negative campaigning. After all, we have shorters do we not?

I've been using NetZero for a year and utlilize my Schwab trading program on it. I have no complaints. But I have noticed that, when pressed, most folks who've had trouble with NetZero have one of the following problems: a) they've downloaded on an AOL proprietary system; b) they've got a conflict of interest due to involvement of some kind with a paid ISP.

Indeed, objectivity often becomes a market victim, does it not?

But just think about it. AOL, Microsoft, et. al., have a whole lot of investors. You think they're simply going stay by the wayside as NetZero creeps up on 'em with a better mousetrap? I don't. It's ground zero now, the battle is on.

In the end, I think both will survive, that ultimately they'll be a paid service and a free service. But just 'cause the free service is now upon us doesn't mean ya gotta go knocking it, does it? It's only going to make the battle worse. Why not just accept it?
