Carolyn, Thanks for the monthly reminder, great links and information. I can't tell you what pleasure it brings me to see others that have joined in this cyber war against breast cancer. To see Berger join the fight along with others like Merrill Lynch, Schwab and Oppenheimer really is beautiful. It has long been my dream to make corporations and Wall Street aware as it takes money to kill a beast.
All corporations should join in this battle if for no other reason they should do so as it is good business. 1 in 9 women will get breast cancer at some time in their life and breast cancer affects the whole family. Early diagnosis is the best chance to beat it. So the more people we have looking for the cancer, the better chance we have to kill it.
And it is not just the big boys that make me happy when they join the battle. Each and every one of us is important and one person CAN and DOES make a difference. Do a self exam if you are a woman, if you are a man, exam yourself (though rare, men get breast cancer too) and ask the women in your life if they have done an exam this month.
Thank you Carolyn and all Techriders for being a part of the growing Army that is going to kill breast cancer. Tomorrow many will be running for their lives, others will be running just to fight. I'll run for my Wife and all women and MRS. BLUE and I will have Rita's name on our backs. Cancer took Rita's life but her battle lives on, cancer wins nothing. Rita never lost her battle with cancer as the battle is still being fought.
909S and my sincere thanks to all who fight, BLUE

Carolyn, Thank you for the reminder to do a breast self-exam on the 2nd of the month, and for the links too. More information on breast cancer (and many other conditions) @ mediconsult.com
Recently, my beeper was clipped to the side of the waistband of some high-riding slacks i was wearing that day. While driving the car, couldn't help but notice "something feels funny" when i turned the wheel & not talking about the car! Checked it, breathed a sigh of relief to find the beeper there assuming it caused the "feels funny" irritating sensation of pressure...but thought it best to do the self-exam anyway when i got home again. And then again today on the 2nd of the month.
So far, so good.
This is my scheduled routine for awhile now, Established, Thanks to Blue. Should a problem ever develop, the self-exam could catch it much earlier than the once-a-year physical might or the mammogram HMO's say a healthy woman only needs every few years til she's older. A few months earlier could mean all the difference to one's lifelong health.
Thanks again for posting us this reminder.
909s,
Joanie
